Do I need the internet to use the app?
No, that’s the beauty of Mardles! You only need a WiFi connection when you initially download the App. The App itself will work anywhere in the world and doesn’t need an internet connection.
How much does the app cost?
The App is free and available from the Apple App Store, Amazon and the Google Play Store for Android devices. It can be downloaded onto most recent smart phones and tablets.
Is my device compatible with the free Mardles app?
Mardles products use the latest technology to deliver exciting and engaging entertainment to you. Whilst we make every effort to ensure the product works on as many devices as possible, there are some that cannot display the Mardles magic. Please check the information below to ensure that you are able to use the product satisfactorily.
Android
The device must have a rear facing camera and be running Android OS 4.0.3 or newer. Please note also that some older and budget devices do not have sufficient processing power for the Mardles range of products. If using Mardles hugARmals, your device must also have a Gyro built in. Most recent Apple and Android devices fulfil this requirement. Entry level / budget devices may not contain a Gyro and will be unable to bring Mardles hugARmals to life.

- iPhone 5 (2012) or newer
- Requires iOS 10.0 or newer
Are there in-app purchases that could be expensive?
No, there aren’t any in-app purchases. You can relax safe in the knowledge that your child won’t be racking up any expensive bills using our App!
When should my order arrive?
If you order Mardles directly from www.mardleslife.com, your order usually arrives within 3-5 working days. If you are outside of Europe, please allow a little longer.

What are Mardles stickers?
Mardles are Augmented Reality stickers that come to life when you download our free App!
Who are Mardles stickers suitable for?
Mardles are enjoyed by boys and girls ages 3+ all around the world. We know of quite a few Parents and Grand Parents who love them too!
My app is struggling to recognise the stickers
Make sure that there is good lighting around you and not too many shadows or reflections being cast onto the Mardles stickers. Your phone or tablet’s camera will need a clear view of the Mardles sticker in order for the character to appear on screen. Don’t stick your Mardles stickers too close together.
discovAR 4D colouring
What is discovAR?
Mardles discovAR 4D colouring brings your creations to life on your smart phone or tablet.
Do I need to use special pens or crayons?
Not at all, you can use any pens, pencils, crayons or paints. For the best results, use bright colours and be as creative as you like!
How does it work?
Once you’ve installed the free discovAR app on your device, it will scan your design and apply your exact colours and brush strokes to the 3D animated scene. You can also enable VR mode to fully immerse yourself in your creation.
I can’t scan my picture
Make sure that the entire picture is in view on your device. All 4 corners of the square must be visible for the app to work it’s magic. Avoid any big shadows or low light levels to get the best results.
Mardles Magic Masks
What are Mardles Magic Masks?
Mardles Magic Masks are Augmented Reality masks that magically come to life on your screen. Simply download the free Mardles app and point it at your mask to make the magic happen.
Who are they suitable for?
Mardles Magic Masks have been designed for all ages and all members of the family. Our adjustable sizing band means that ages 3 to 103 can all enjoy the magic.
How many designs are there?
We have launched with 20 designs ranging from Pirates and Princesses to Lions and Clowns.

I can’t get them to come to life!
Make sure that you are in even lighting with no major dark patches or shadows. Equally, no bright spot lights as the app needs to see the mask clearly. If the mask is on a really small child, they may need to turn their head left and right for the app to work it’s magic.

What are Mardles Stories that come to life?
Magical story books that come to life on your screen using the power of Augmented Reality. Simply download the free Mardles app and point it at any of the magic pages to begin your interactive journey.
Who are the story books for?
The stories have been written to be suitable for pre-school children right up to junior school. They are written in rhyme and each book helps encourage children to be themselves, try new things or ask questions to learn new things.
I don’t want my child using a tablet at bedtime
We agree! These books work very well as standalone bedtime stories, however, when it is ‘tablet time’, they transform info interactive toys too.
I can’t get the magic to happen
Make sure that the page you’re on has the magic wand in the corner. Open the Mardles app and point at the right hand page. The magic happens when the page is lying as flat as possible with even lighting, avoid big shadows or dark rooms.
Mardles hugARmals
What are Mardles hugARmals?
Magical hugARmals are cuddly toys that magically come to life with the Mardles app using the power of Augmented Reality. Simply download the free Mardles app, scan the characters special badge on their foot, move your device around the room until a colourful star appears and 'tap' the star to bring your new digital friend to life!
Who are hugARmals for?
The cuddly toys themselves are safe for ages 0+ and can be enjoyed by children (or adults!) of any age. The digital interaction is ideal for ages 2+
I can’t get the magic to happen
Make sure that the device you're using is compatible with this item. Most modern Apple/Android devices will work but your device must contain a Gyro for this technology to function. Some entry level / budget devices do not contain a Gyro, this includes some editions of the Amazon Fire tablet.
